Nykaa Naturals Shampoo Review - Onion & Fenugreek range

Review By: Dhivya Samyraj

Hair type: Dry frizzy, Shoulder length hair.

With their new launch Nykaa has made their entry into the hair care department. Nykaa Naturals have come out with two variants of Shampoo and Conditioner, Onion and Fenugreek range and Apple cider and ginger range. The former for promoting hair growth and preventing hair fall while the latter to fight dandruff and hence promote hair growth. I received the Onion and Fenugreek range from Nykaa as PR and I have been using the shampoo for quite a while now. I had posted a mini review of sorts on my Instagram. Continue reading the full review to know how the product has fared.

Review of Nykaa Naturals Onion & Fenugreek Shampoo:

The Onion and Fenugreek shampoo comes in a cute, white and pastel purple plastic bottle. The top of the cap should be clicked open to dispense the shampoo. The product packaging is minimal yet cute and is recyclable.

Onion oil has been a rage in hair care products and Fenugreek is known to prevent hair fall. The product has keratin and collagen forming actives to strengthen the hair follicles and antimicrobial actives to keep infections at bay. Circulation boosting actives induce increased blood circulation and promote more nutrients to reach the hair follicles which contributes to healthy hair growth and prevention of hair loss.

The shampoo is white in colour and has a pleasant fragrance, the pungent smell of the actives cannot be detected. The shampoo has a creamy texture, gives a good lather and is easy to rinse off. I usually oil my hair prior to washing and the shampoo manages to get rid of the oil. I have very fine, thin frizzy hair, so I don't shampoo my hair twice. The best part of the shampoo is that it doesn't dry out my hair. It makes my hair soft, smooth and quite manageable after shampooing and with the conditioner I could tame the frizz to an extent. Another important thing is that the slightly acidic actives help in balancing the pH of the hair. The alpha hydroxy acid helps exfoliate the scalp and gets rid of any build-up or dead cells on the scalp and hence promotes hair growth. I absolutely love this shampoo and it is so affordable. If you are looking for a non drying shampoo give Nykaa Naturals shampoo a try and thank me later.

Pros:

Phthalate Free,

No added dye,

Affordable,

Easily available,

Cons:

I'm not able to comment on the hair growth claims.

Conclusion: I have only come across two shampoos that aren't drying out my already frizzy hair. Nykaa Naturals shampoo and Plum macadamia and olive shampoo. Comparatively the Nykaa one is more affordable than the Plum. I love both the shampoos and yet I'd definitely repurchase the Nykaa Naturals shampoo. Would you try out the Nykaa Naturals shampoo? What do you think about the review, is it detailed enough? Tell me in the comments.

Nykaa Skin Secrets Sheet mask-Rice+Camelia Review

Review By Dhivya Samyraj Skin type : normal to dry skin Skin tone : dusky deep skin tone with slight pigmentation. Indian market is saturated with sheet masks from various Korean brands, but there aren’t many Indian brands when it comes to this niche. Nykaa recently jumped in the Sheet masks bandwagon with 11 variants. I bought 7 masks when there was sale going on Nykaa website. Do grab them when there is a sale going on, always, so you get to buy the product and also save money. Read on to know more about the rice + camelia sheet mask.
