It has been exactly one year since the launch of the brand Kay beauty by Katrina Kaif and there has been a demand for bullet lipsticks from the brand, although their matteine matte lipsticks were well received. I had received 8 shades from them as PR, which I’m really excited about, and today we are going to see whether the lipstick stands up to their claims. Please check out my Instagram for swatches.

Review of Kay Beauty
Matte Drama Matte Lipstick:
Everything about the lipstick screams luxe from packaging to the finish and the range has 18 luxurious matte shades to suit every Indian skin tone. The lipstick comes in a colour coded cardboard packaging with embossed kay beauty monogram. The shade name and other details like the batch number, date of manufacture and expiry date are printed on the box, the lipstick has a shelf life of about 36 months.
The lipstick itself
comes in a pretty bullet with a rose gold cap and a colour coded body. The
shade name is printed on the bottom of the lipstick. The cap too has the kay
beauty monogram embossed on it which gives a luxurious look to the lipstick.
The lipstick has a strong magnetic cap and it won’t open inside the bag, hence
travel friendly.
The lipstick range comes in 18 beautiful shades to suit every Indian skin tone with beautiful reds, plums, nudes, pinks and browns. Every skin tone can find a nude shade from this range. The lipstick is highly pigmented and gives full colour payoff in a single swipe. They are opaque and covers the pigmented lip with just one coat of lipstick. The lipstick spreads smoothly on the lips without any tug and pull and settles into a luxurious velvety matte finish.
The formula is hydrating, lightweight and doesn’t dry out the lips. Even though the lipstick has a velvety matte finish, it doesn’t dry out the lips like most matte lipsticks do. Prep the lips well before applying the lipstick with some lip balm and you are set. The lipstick stays on the lips for about 4-5 hours. It does transfer a bit after application but once the lipstick is set, it doesn’t transfer a lot. The reapplication or touch up is smooth and doesn’t cake up on the lips.
It wears off from the centre of the
lips after 3 or 4 hours of application and it leaves a beautiful tint behind.
The lipstick survives minor snacking and drinks but doesn’t last a meal. The
brand is Cruelty free, Paraben free, dermatologically tested and vegetarian.
How
do I rate it? 4.8/5.

This new launch from kay beauty by Katrina Kaif is
one of the anticipated products from the brand and I love how well thought of
