Skin type: normal to dry skin
Skintone: dusky deep skin tone with slight pigmentation
Hi everyone,
Today I’m here again with a review of a VLCC product. I purchased this along with the Indian berberry scrub. Let us get into the review now.
Price: INR 115/- for 100 ml.
Product claims: tones and refreshes skin. Suitable for all types of skin.
Key ingredients:
Description: This skin toner acts as a cooling and refreshing agent. It tones, nourishes and balances the skin.
Method of use: moisten a piece of cotton with this toner; apply all over clean face and neck area. Add to face packs for refreshing and glowing skin.
Review of VLCC Skin defense rose water toner:
The toner comes in a beige coloured opaque plastic bottle with a flip cap attached to it. All the product details are printed on it. This rose water toner is also a part of the skin defense line by VLCC. The cap closes with an audible click and it is spill proof. The opening is pretty big and dispenses generous amount of toner at one go. The packaging is functional, spill proof and not bulky, so it is safe to travel with this toner in bag without the fear of spilling.
The toner is a clear liquid which has a mild scent of rose. Also this toner is not a pure rose water but has aloe extract, peppermint oil etc. in it. I love natural rose scent very much but it can be overwhelming at times and I do not like the scent of this toner. It gives me headache. People with sensitive noses might find it irritating.
The toner is very cooling when applied on the skin. It refreshes the skin but I cannot say it is nourishing. On application it gets absorbed into the skin well. But I feel a sticky feeling on my skin once dried. If not followed by a good moisturiser soon, my skin feels stretchy. Overall, it is an average product from VLCC and I wouldn’t buy it again.
How do I rate it? 3/5.
Thumbs up for:
Travel friendly packaging.
Cheaper than other brands.
Can be mixed with face packs.
Thumbs down for:
The product scent is off putting.
Feels sticky on the skin.
Without a moisturiser it dries out the skin.
Conclusion: I’d rather make pure rose water at home than use this toner. I wouldn’t recommend this product neither would I repurchase it. Some products of VLCC are worth trying and some products are not. What do you think about this product? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you.
