VLCC depigmentation serum review

Skin type: normal to dry skin
Skintone: dusky deep skin tone with slight pigmentation

Hi everyone,
I have been MIA for way too long due to some personal reasons. Now, I have found some time to do what I love. I hope I can be pretty consistent with my blog from now onwards. Wish me luck!!! VLCC is a trusted cosmetic brand in India. Some of their products are really good and some of them are not!!  I had bought this serum in hopes of getting rid of the pigmentation around my neck. This is the first product review I am doing for my blog. I’m excited. Let’s see how this serum fared.

Price: INR 405/- for 40 ml.
Product claims: removes dark patches, blemishes and tan on skin. For all skin types.

Key ingredients: orange peel extract, liquorice extract, polyquaternium 39, niacinamide, glycerine.

Description: This depigmentation serum is a non-oily formulation, gets absorbed through the skin and increases the rate of skin turnover and gives a more youthful appearance. It moisturises, protects and stimulates cell generation, resulting in even skin tone and reduction in the appearance of fine lines. Orange peel extract has chemical compound limonene which enhances the revival of clear skin. Liquorice soothes the skin, evens the skin tone, giving a brighter, fairer, healthy glow on the skin.

Review of VLCC depigmentation serum:
The product comes packed in a slim cylindrical plastic pump bottle which is housed in a rectangular white cardboard box with all the details of the product printed nicely upon it. The bottle also carries all the information printed on the box. The pump bottle has a clear cap and a safety cap for the nozzle. It is hygienic to use a pump bottle because the product doesn’t come in contact with the air to be spoilt. The bottle is opaque, so you won’t know how much product is left. There is no leakage of the product from the bottle and it can be carried in your handbag without the fear of spilling. Overall the packaging is pretty good and travel safe.

Moving on to the actual serum itself, the serum is white in colour and thin in consistency. Its smells heavenly and it is not very overpowering. The smell lingers for a while. Since the serum is thin it spreads and absorbs on the skin nicely. The product gets absorbed almost immediately. It does not feel heavy, sweaty or oily on the skin. It is very thin and light, upon application it almost vanishes into the skin leaving the skin matte. I say this because my skin turns oily and sweaty with lightest of moisturisers, but that is not the case with this serum. I can feel the serum moisturising my skin without making it oily. One pump dispenses little amount of product and just a couple of pumps is needed to cover my face and neck. It is good for using both during day and night.

I had been using this product for a month now. I can see a slight improvement in the texture of my skin and the pigmentation around my mouth is slightly improved. Since it is too early, I haven’t seen any difference in the pigmentation around my neck and I don’t expect it too, because it takes some time for any product to show improvement only with continuous usage. Overall it is definitely a good product and I’d surely repurchase it.

How do I rate it? 4/5.

Thumbs up for:
Thin consistency
Pump dispenser
Good packaging
Amazing fragrance
Does not makes skin oily or sweaty
Spreads and absorbs easily on skin
Removes pigmentation with continued use
Evens out skin tone

Thumbs down for:
The cap might crack and break if you drop it.

Conclusion:
This product is actually a great product if you want to even out your skin tone. Since it is thin in consistency oily skinned beauties can also use it. It can be used during the daytime underneath your makeup too. I had a good going with this product and I’d be happy to repurchase this serum again and again.

Nykaa Skin Secrets Sheet mask-Rice+Camelia Review

Review By Dhivya Samyraj Skin type : normal to dry skin Skin tone : dusky deep skin tone with slight pigmentation. Indian market is saturated with sheet masks from various Korean brands, but there aren’t many Indian brands when it comes to this niche. Nykaa recently jumped in the Sheet masks bandwagon with 11 variants. I bought 7 masks when there was sale going on Nykaa website. Do grab them when there is a sale going on, always, so you get to buy the product and also save money. Read on to know more about the rice + camelia sheet mask.
